Our Doctors
Dr. Cabell obtained his Bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He received his degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) in 2011, again, from the University of Michigan. As an intern at the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department of the Loyola University Medical Center during training, he developed an interest in surgery, and spent a year working in a busy community clinic, providing care for an underserved population in Northern Michigan.
Dr. Cabell is a member of the Chicago Dental Society, Illinois State Dental Society, and American Dental Association.
Dr. Reem S. Shafi received her dental degree from Temple University Kornberg School of Dentistry in 1998. By 2004, having started her own clinic, Dr. Shafi realized she had the potential to serve more people. Now Dr. Shafi owns multiple practices that employ over 140 employees and 30 dentists.
Dr. Shafi is a proud recipient of numerous awards and recognitions including her induction into Temple University Fox School of Business League for Entrepreneurial Women Hall of Fame, for the year 2013.
Dr. Heng Xu (B.D.S., MS, D.D.S) earned his Bachelor of Dental Surgeon degree in 1999 from one of the top dental schools in China. That was followed by an Oral Surgery Master Degree in 2006. By the time he came to US in 2010 as a Scholar at University of Michigan, he had been practicing as a general dentist for over 10 years. In 2015, he completed IDP Program from School of Dental Medicine at SUNY, graduating in the top fifteen of his class.
Dr. Heng Xu (BDS, MS, DDS) is a member of the American Dental Association, Chicago Dental Society, and the Illinois State Dental Society.
Dr. Ruoyu Pang (DDS) earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2013 from the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry. Dr. Pang’s expertise lies in restorative, endodontic, surgical, and cosmetic procedures. She routinely attends educational courses to stay abreast with the latest developments in her field.
Dr. Pang is also a member of American Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Society, and Chicago dental society.
Dr. Amer Atassi received his dental degree from Tufts University, Boston in 1996. He finished one year of Advanced Education in Dentistry at the University of Michigan, before pursuing a 3-year specialty training in periodontics (gum specialty) and dental implants at Louisiana State University. He is a specialist in placing dental implants and periodontics (gum treatment).
Dr. Atassi has two Masters’ degrees, and he is a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology.
